The Bemusement Games

The aim of this venture was to showcase the uses,beauty and diversity of small-dimension native Irish timbers.

Over the years since then Fuinseog Woodland Crafts has evolved from being a small craft business producing wood-turned and basketry items, to coppice work , greenwood building,woodland crafts demonstrations, teaching coppice skills, to the creation of The Bemusement Games about 10 years ago.

The Bemusement Games are a mix of traditional and not-so-traditional games and interactive wooden creations, suitable for all ages and abilities.

Come and try your hand at chess , draughts, snakes and ladders, marble mazes, marble runs , puzzles, ring toss and many more…..all made from native Irish timbers, hedgerow trees and shrubs, Leitrim-grown sally rods and dogwood, and vintage , recycled and upcycled elements.

They may be more challenging to play because of their rustic nature.

The Bemusement Games are facilitated by Niall and Brenda, with our aprons full of spare marbles. Most of the games have instructions, but if you need any help, or if any game is missing marbles, let us know, so that your family’s fun can continue.
