Fooling all of the people
God Bless the Government. The Festival of Foolsis so popular that we have been granted an additional Bank Holiday. So, no more notes to school explaining mythical sore throats on Friday and no phoning work with your best poorly voice while the boss asks about the clapping in the background and you try and pass it off as the Jeremy Kyle show on the telly.
This year, it’s official, you can laugh your socks off from Thursday night through to Monday evening without feeling the slightest bit shifty. To celebrate this, the Festival of Fools is bringing you a record number of shows from around the world. We are bringing in the most talented street artists from Australia, USA, Germany, France, Canada, Finland, Holland, England and Ireland. To start the party, we have brought over the fabulous La Tal from Spain, who will provide a visual feast to delight even the hardest of hearts. So hats off, wallets out, it’s time for another rollercoaster of fun...
Laughter can keep the weight off
Giggling for just 15 minutes a day burns enough calories to shed up to 5lbs of fat over a year, work shows.
A big belly laugh uses about the same energy as walking more than half a mile, the US study in the International Journal of Obesity suggests.
Laughing makes the heart beat faster and works many different muscles.
